In verband met de coronamaatregelen heeft het bestuur van de Homeopathie Stichting besloten deze nascholing door Jean-Lionel Bagot online te organiseren als webinar. Wij zijn blij dat dr. Bagot bereid is vanuit Frankrijk twee uur les te verzorgen. Hij zal zijn voordracht met powerpoint ondersteunen en de sheets achteraf met ons delen.

Jean-Lionel Bagot geeft les aan de universiteit van Straatsburg over zijn ervaringen met homeopathie bij patiënten met kanker en heeft enkele jaren geleden een boek geschreven; Cancer & Homeopathy. Hierin beschrijft hij veel voorkomende klachten en symptomen met de best passende homeopathische geneesmiddelen. Dit seminar is een introductie in zijn inmiddels goed onderzochte methode.

Het webinar gaat in op de mogelijkheden en specifieke therapeutische indicaties voor homeopathie bij kanker. Dr. Bagot zal ook de verschillende homeopathische behandelingen bespreken die nodig zijn in de stadia van diagnose, chirurgie, chemotherapie, gerichte therapie, radiotherapie, hormoontherapie en post-behandeling. Hij zal vervolgens ingaan op pijn, vermoeidheid en palliatieve zorg. Er is ook een baanbrekende sectie over hetero-isotherapie van chemotherapieën.

Dit seminar is geschikt voor alle artsen, met name voor huisartsen en medisch specialisten die meer willen weten over de mogelijkheden van aanvullende behandelingen binnen de oncologie en palliatie, maar ook voor artsen die aanvullende behandelingen (willen) toepassen.

Over Jean-Lionel Bagot

Dr. Jean-Lionel Bagot, geboren in 1957, is huisarts en homeopaat in Straatsburg. Na het behalen van zijn doctoraat in de geneeskunde specialiseerde hij zich in de oncologie. Al vroeg toonde hij interesse in complementaire geneesmiddelen zoals homeopathie en acupunctuur, waarvoor hij ook verschillende interuniversitaire diploma's behaalde.

Nadat hij zijn kliniek had geopend, werd hij de eerste arts verbonden aan de Universitaire Ziekenhuizen van Straatsburg die het eerste Franse homeopathische zorgadviesbureau oprichtte in een ziekenhuisomgeving op een afdeling senologie.

Op basis van zijn solide medische ervaring heeft hij de voordelen van homeopathie bij de behandeling van kankerpatiënten aangetoond in verschillende publicaties over kanker en homeopathie, en in verschillende manieren om behandelingen beter te verdragen.

In zijn boeken deelt Jean-Lionel Bagot zijn overtuiging: "alleen een integratieve benadering zal de geneeskunde vooruit helpen". Daartoe werd hij benoemd tot coördinerend arts van de afdeling Integratieve Geneeskunde van de Saint Vincent Hospital Group, voordat hij in december 2019 het eerste Franse dagziekenhuis voor integratieve zorg oprichtte. Hij is ook de oprichter en supervisor van de Strasbourg University Degree in Homeopathy. Erkend als een van de leidende experts in homeopathische ondersteunende zorg in de oncologie, voegde hij zich in augustus 2019 bij de teams van het Institut Rafaël in Parijs.

Introduction

While I was studying oncology at the Alexis Vautrin Centre for cancer treatment in Nancy, France, and then at the Institut Gustave Roussy in Villejuif near Paris, I soon realised the role homeopathy could play in supportive care and the benefit it could bring patients if integrated within Cancer Centres. It all happened fairly quickly.

In 2006, shortly after I graduated, Professor Jean-Philippe Brettes invited me to join the senology department at the University Hospitals of Strasbourg, France, in order to run the first homeopathic supportive care clinic. At the same time, Jean-Philippe Wagner, a radio oncologist and an ardent proponent of integrative medicine, invited me to join the dynamic team at Strasbourg Liberal Oncology Clinic at Sainte-Anne’s hospital. My presence at the point of treatment enabled me to better understand patients’ needs and to respond quickly in case of side effects. Discussions and constant conversations with other caregivers led to a truly holistic approach in patient care and developed my understanding of their practical needs during treatment. Still under the leadership of JP Wagner, we created the association ‘Cathy’s smile’ to develop supportive care and make it accessible to all. Gradually, a synergy took place in Strasbourg. A real ‘school’ of supportive care was created around a group of professionals who met regularly within the local cancer network.

In 2010, I joined the palliative care team of All Saints hospital in Strasbourg. In palliative care, even more than elsewhere, the whole patient is taken into account in every dimension: physical, mental, spiritual, social, artistic... Homeopathy logically had a role to play. With nearly four thousand homeopathy consultations per year in supportive care, my experience rapidly grew, the therapeutic indications were verified and the choice of medicines improved which led to better outcomes. From the beginning, homeopathy seemed to perfectly meet the expectations of patients and of my colleagues. It complements the other skills in a process of care and support of the person, without the risk of side effects or interaction with other treatments.

In the light of this experience, you will discover the possibilities and specific therapeutic indications for homeopathy in cancer. I will also discuss the various homeopathic treatments required at diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy, hormonal therapy and post-treatment stages. I will then consider the management of pain, fatigue and palliative care. There is also a ground-breaking section dealing with hetero-isotherapy of chemotherapies.
